Footpatrol’s Creative Brand Lead, Asheeba Charles was keen to tap into Helsinki’s fashion & streetwear scene and came up with the idea to ask a Finnish designer to work on a three-way collaboration.
Finnish designer Sasu Kauppi, a Central Saint Martin’s graduate, was called upon and embraced the project immediately. Before launching his own unisex streetwear brand SSSU, Kauppi was design director and head of menswear design at YEEZY. After input of both Footpatrol and Karhu, Kauppi’s design stage was approached through a process of elimination resulting in a premium offering.
Presented in a Paloma Grey & White colour way, the KARHU x Footpatrol x SSSU ‘Legacy 96’ takes advantage of using premium materials throughout. Hairy suede is used across the entire toe-box area with reflective detail atop, pigskin suede and textured leather overlays complete the shoe with each partner’s brand logo embroidered and debossed printed on the heel.
A combination of three different kinds of mesh is seen throughout - open mesh underlays on the medial and lateral panels, shiny ribbed mesh used on the tongue and collar, and a diamond mesh lining. A special designed “KARHU LOGO” by Sasu Kauppi, using letters from all three brand logos, is the star of the shoe. The logo is featured as embroidery on the toe box, on the woven tongue label and on the shoebox. The shoes come in a special box, with a spare set of bright white laces and have a custom-designed footbed.

Full price purchases placed online are eligible to be returned for an exchange, store credit, or refund providing your returns items fit our returns policy conditions outlined below if you contact us within 48 hours of receiving your order.
Contact must be made via [email protected] within 48 hours of receiving the goods advising us of return.
Returned Items must be unused, with the original tags & packaging still attached to the product. All footwear must be returned in the original shoe box, sunglasses and jewellery in the original case & box.
Shipping and handling is non refundable and returns are the customers responsibility until they reach Good as Gold Ltd.
