Opinel
In 1872 Joseph Opinel was born into a family of metal forgers in Savoie, a historic region of Savoy in France. In 1897 Joseph created the series of knives numbered from 1 through to 12. In 1909 Joseph designed his remarkable trademark, 'The Crowned Hand' to be the Opinel emblem. In 1914 Opinel went into factory mass production. Who doesn't love a good old bit of history especially when it comes to French knives of top quality with a great background story.
