Where it all began.
It all began in California in the 1970s when a fresh generation of free-spirited rock climbers, known as the Stonemasters, settled in Yosemite National Park, pioneering a new climbing approach — emphasizing speed and style. These novel techniques necessitated a new type of attire, and while painter pants and army surplus gear sufficed to a degree, flexibility was essential. Mike Graham, a Stonemaster with a discerning eye for design, set out to craft the best climbing kit in the game.

Many of the coolest features found in outdoor clothing were developed by Gramicci in this time – A diamond-shaped gusset, inspired by kung-fu trousers, was incorporated into the crotch for complete 180-degree flexibility, while robust canvas material ensured durability during challenging climbs. For secure fastening, a nylon webbing belt was seamlessly integrated into the waist. Drawing inspiration from backpack straps, this ingenious feature allowed for one-handed adjustment, while the elasticated waistband provided comfort.
