Since Kowtow's inception in 2006, they have been Fairtrade-certified, working with Fairtrade-certified partners throughout their supply chain. From Fairtrade-certified cotton farmers to mills and manufacturers, they can trace every part of the manufacturing process from seed to garment.
100% organic cotton.
Certified 100% Fairtrade organic cotton is a natural, biodegradable and renewable resource, grown using non-genetically modified seeds and without harmful chemicals. Small lots of organic cotton are planted alongside food crops to feed farmer communities and promote soil fertility and biodiversity. The cotton is processed using Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) approved inks and dyes, free from chlorine bleach, toxic heavy metals, formaldehyde and aromatic solvents. It is a natural fibre that is breathable, durable and easy to care for.
100% plastic-free.
From 2024 onwards, every new Kowtow Fairtrade organic cotton garment is completely plastic-free. Kowtow developed and sourced strong and viable natural alternatives for all garment components: cotton fabric, cotton thread, cotton wadding, cotton labels, cotton interlining, latex rubber elastic & thread, shell & nut buttons, metal tacks and D-rings.

I'm never disappointed with the quality and style of the product I buy. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful when I ring for anything (inquiry or opinion). This is a super boutique. The physical store is good too. Alot to choose from all over the world. A top New Zealand shop!
