    Where it all began.

    It all began in California in the 1970s when a fresh generation of free-spirited rock climbers, known as the Stonemasters, settled in Yosemite National Park, pioneering a new climbing approach — emphasizing speed and style. These novel techniques necessitated a new type of attire, and while painter pants and army surplus gear sufficed to a degree, flexibility was essential. Mike Graham, a Stonemaster with a discerning eye for design, set out to craft the best climbing kit in the game.

    Gramicci changed the game.

    By 1982, Gramicci was established. Many of the coolest features found in outdoor clothing were developed by Gramicci in this time – A diamond-shaped gusset, inspired by kung-fu trousers, was incorporated into the crotch for complete 180-degree flexibility, while robust canvas material ensured durability during challenging climbs. For secure fastening, a nylon webbing belt was seamlessly integrated into the waist. Drawing inspiration from backpack straps, this ingenious feature allowed for one-handed adjustment, while the elasticated waistband provided comfort.

    Over the last 40 years, Gramicci has continued to innovate and champion new concepts, all while upholding its original ethos. Four decades since the inaugural pair of Gramicci shorts were meticulously crafted in Mike Graham's garage, the tune remains consistent — it's resilient, practical clothing, meticulously designed with movement at its core.
