Patagonia Durable Down Parka - Basin Green

For committing climbs that require rugged insulation, the Durable Down Parka is a lofty and warm 800-fill-power down belay jacket with a two-way zipper that won’t get shredded by rock abrasion. Using materials found in our Workwear gear, it’s tough enough to withstand the burliest pitches yet light enough to haul up the longest routes. This parka is part of the Free Wall Kit. Designed to meet the demands of our ambassadors’ evolving tactics for modern rock climbing objectives, the Free Wall Kit is made for sustained, difficult multipitch routes where even the smallest rest recovers just enough energy for the send. Made in a Fair Trade Certified™ factory.

Sizing: Regular fit. Model is 185cm and wears size M.
Materials: Shell: 1.9-oz 98% recycled nylon/2% recycled polyester Ultra-PE ripstop with a solvent-free acrylic coating and a durable water repellent (DWR) finish made without intentionally added PFAS. Lining: Pertex® Quantum 0.8-oz 10-denier NetPlus® 100% postconsumer recycled nylon ripstop made from recycled fishing nets to help reduce ocean plastic pollution; with a DWR finish made without intentionally added PFAS. Insulation: 800-fill-power 100% Responsible Down Standard down certified by Control Union (CU 880272)

    - Built with a lightweight version of an ultradurable face fabric from our Steel Forge Workwear jacket, the high-tensile 98% recycled nylon/2% recycled polyester Ultra-PE ripstop protects the 800-fill-power down from abrasion so that you can move freely even when you’re 15 pitches off the deck
    - Comfortable lining is lighter than the exterior fabric to reduce bulk for better packability; it’s also soft and quiet to help you find a pocket of calm when you’re trying hard
    - Generous hood with a high draft collar pulls easily over a helmet for total warmth; soft, elasticised binding at the hood, cuffs and hem seal out the elements
    - Two-way, centre-front Vislon® zipper with two internal storm flaps that snap together at the hem makes it belay device-compatible without exposure to the elements
    - Broad shoulders and discontinuous quilting provide mobility and loft; an exterior loop at the back of the neck allows you to clip to the belay with the durable, weather-resistant shell facing outward
    - Two generous zippered handwarmer pockets allow easy access at a hanging belay, and parka self-stuffs into the left pocket; two interior drop-in mesh pockets keep gloves or climbing shoes warm
    - Made in Vietnam.

Known for its commitment to sustainability, ethical production, and timeless function-first pieces, Patagonia doesn’t follow trends - it creates its own path.

    Why We Back Patagonia.

Patagonia has been a symbol of purpose-driven design and effortless cool since its inception in 1973. Born at the intersection of rugged wilderness and conscious living, this iconic brand brings its heritage of technical precision into the modern streetwear scene.

    Earth First, Always.

Patagonia doesn't just make gear - they create change. Built on a foundation of environmental activism and transparency led by founder Yvon Chouinard, Patagonia has been setting the standard for what it means to be a responsible company since day one.

Patagonia donates 1% of sales to grassroots environmental causes and has given hundreds of millions to environmental groups worldwide. In 2022, they made headlines by going all in: transferring company ownership to a trust and nonprofit, ensuring all profits are used to fight climate change and protect natural habitats.

Built to Last, Not to Waste – Their gear is designed to stand the test of time. With programs like 'Worn Wear', they encourage repairing, reusing, and recycling rather than replacing - a direct stand against fast fashion.

    Sustainability in Every Stitch.

Patagonia has been leading the way in sustainable innovation - rethinking what gear is made of, using recycled materials across much of their product line to reduce waste, save energy, and shrink their environmental impact. Over 90% of Patagonia products now use recycled fabrics, and they’re pushing for 100%. It’s all part of their mission to build the best product, cause no unnecessary harm, and inspire other brands to follow their lead.
