18 years ago, Veja’s founders travelled to the Amazon rainforest to meet producers of wild rubber in person, and from this the Veja project was born.

A True Story About Amazonian Rubber.

One year ago, a team from Veja France revisited the Amazon rainforest for 4 days to discover the Chico Mendes reserve. One of the many reserves that Veja works with to responsibly keep the Amazon rainforest alive. These families of rubber producers that Veja work with protect the forest and live in harmony with it, and in turn are paid 4 times more than the market price. Every individual Veja sole is made of Amazonian rubber sourced from these producers.
